I am an ecologist. I mainly work on different plant species in Nepal, central Himalayan region. By studying species along an elevational gradient, I have tried to show how they are affected by different environmental factors. As I am also keen at studying medicinal plants, I have tried to show the relationship between plant species and human beings. I also have studied the distribution patterns or taxonomy of different plant species, orchid species, butterflies, birds, herbivory patterns along an elevational gradient in Nepal. Invasive species and their effect on native plant species is another topic of my interest. My current research is focused on understanding the species ability to adapt to changing climate using Impatiens species growing on a long elevation gradient in Nepal.
