In general I am interested in plant molecular biology and its ecological relevance with a particular interest in the genetic and epigenetic pathways for adaptation and evolution. Currently for my PhD thesis I am studying the epigenetic responses to stress and how it is related to observed transgenerational effects in clonal plants. The main focus of the project is to investigate if a clonal memory is involved in responses to stressful conditions and if this memory could be transmitted via epigenetic mechanisms to the following generations.
