LIFE South Moravia
The main objective of the LIFE SouthMoravia project (LIFE18 NAT/CZ/000832) is to improve the conservation status of five priority habitats of the Habitats Directive, namely, Sub-Pannonic steppic grasslands, Pannonic loess steppic grasslands, Pannonian woods with Quercus pubescens, Euro-Siberian steppic woods with Quercus spp., and Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia), including the non-priority version of this last habitat without important orchid sites,, at the northern edge of the Pannonian bioregion and in one case in the Continental bioregion.
The project is implemented in cooperation of ČSOP Onyx (main beneficiary), Kaprálův mlýn and ČSOP Vlašim. We investigate the changes in vegetation composition after management implementation and focus on ability of orchids to grow on restored sites.
