I am a molecular biologist interested in the role of genetic and epigenetic variation in plant evolution and adaptation. In particular, I am fascinated by the potential role of epigenetic variation (mostly DNA methylation) in the local adaptation of natural populations of non-model plant species (mostly the wild strawberry, Fragaria vesca). I am also interested in studying the extent of epigenetic inheritance across clonal and sexual generations, and its adaptive role in response to both biotic and abiotic factors.
