I am a plant ecologist interested in mechanisms driving dynamics of natural populations. My specific interests range from mechanisms driving dynamics of populations of rare, invasive but also native common herbaceous species at local as well as regional scales, via mechanisms affecting the ability of these species to adapt to various local conditions, to how are these process affected by interactions of plants with other organisms. I am also fascinated by the process of polyploidization and attempt to understand how polyploidization affects all the above processes. I am eager to link my research to practical conservation of species. At the moment I am the head of the Department of Population Ecology.
