Écio Diniz is a biologist by the Centro Universitário de Lavras – Unilavras (Brazil), MS in Forest Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Lavras-UFLA (Federal University of Lavras) in the research line of Forest Ecology, PhD in Botany and Post-doc in Forest Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa-UFV (Federal University). Doctoral internship in Germany at University of Münster and University Bayreuth, where he participated in projects concerning the use of optical spectroscopy and stable isotopes to evaluate biological invasion by exotic plant species. Main research lines are Ecology and Plant Evolution, management and conservation of biodiversity. Professional affinity and experience focus in phytosociology and dynamics of neotropical forest communities with special emphasis on Atlantic Forest, Ecology of Cerrado (Brazilian Savanna) populations and Campo Rupestre (Field Rock Outcrops) species, Functional and phylogenetic ecology in general, interactions between plants, statistical modeling and machine learning, applied statistics and R language, GIS and remote sensing. He is also consultant on data analysis and statistics and director of the enterprise Beta Analítica, which offers consultancies services and online courses in several areas of data processing and statistics from the collaboration of highly qualified professionals.
