Jan Kolář studied Archaeology at the Masaryk University in Brno. He did his PhD research on regional and territorial aspects of human society at the end of Eneolithic and the beginning of Bronze Age and successfully defended in 2015. Since 2012, he has been working on the LONGWOOD project at the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences and also works as a researcher and a teacher at the Masaryk University. He specializes in the past land-uses, human societies of the 3rd millenium BC and in the archaeological theory.
