Summary: |
The aim of the project is to quantitatively describe the coexistence of inoculant and the native arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in plant roots. This will be explored in microcosm experiments with strictly defined model conditions. Quantitative real-time PCR with specific primers will be adopted to selectively quantify the DNA of fungal species and isolates. The results of the project will contribute to the fundamental knowledge on the development of communities of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in plant roots and indicate how successful establishment of inoculant fungi could be achieved. |
