Summary:	We have been working in several parts of the Antactica. Here, we have isolated several strains of cyanobacteria and algae. From this sortiment we are going to select strains for experimental studies. We will study ecophysiological features of selected strains together with phylogenetic analyses (molecular genetic analyses of 16S rDNA, ITS (16S rDNA – 23 S rDNA). The aim of study is description of taxonomy and diversity of polar cyanobacteria and algae.
