2005 |
Summary: |
For selected sites and regions in the Czech and Slovak Republics, the reconstructions of vegetation characteristics of the Last Glacial period will be performed. This goal will be achieved with the help of several palaeoecologial methods. For the period of the Late Glacial, the results of so-far investigations will be summarised and new data will be collected in the key regions. For Pleniglacial period, newly discovered buried organic sediments will be studied. These sediments were found in geological contexts and represent unique kind of material. The results of the project will be targeted not only to the amplification of palaeobotanical knowledge, but also for the use in archaeology, palaeontology, landscape ecology, and other related disciplines. |
