Summary: |
Radial growth of trees is influenced by numerous factors, among which the climatic conditions of the site are of the main importance. At non-extreme sites the tree-ring formation is limited by a complex of several climatic factors, whose influence is not necessarily stable over time. Dendroclimatological methods enable investigation of contribution of particular factors to tree-ring growth. These relationships can be species-specific or common for several species and reflect the changes of site conditions. The aim of the proposed project is the comparison of influence of climatic factors to tree-ring formation of invasive Pinus strobus and native Pinus sylvestris in areas: 1) deffireng in climatic conditions, 2) with various stage of invasibility of Pinus strobus, and 3) with natural or semi-natural Pinus sylvestris forests in contrast with its plantations. Furthermore, we will study the changes of the tree-ring response to climate over time and their possible reasons. |
