Summary: | The aim of the project is to verify whether the different types of wood coal production from historical perspective had a (positive) influence on the landscape in which they were located and whether this influence is deterministically demonstrable in parameters of physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil at the landscape level. A partial hypothesis is then: Appropriate implementation of biochar (charcoal) into the soil can be an effective tool for adapting to climate change and mitigating negative anthropogenic effects (e.g. inappropriate land management). Particular goal is to disseminate findings arising from the scientific part of the project among professional and non-professional public about the cultural and environmental importance of charcoal production as a specific form of cultural heritage |
