Tomáš Dostálek
I am a plant ecologist, mainly interested in population dynamics of many different species from many different aspects. Using population dynamics studies, I study how we can effectively protect some very rare species or how plants can cope with future climate change with increased herbivore pressure in high altitudes in Nepal. Plant-herbivore interaction is another research topic in which I am deeply interested. Not only plant-herbivore interactions in high altitudes of Nepal but also the role of plant-soil feedbacks for colonization success of rare of invasive species. My current research is focused on understanding the species ability to adapt to changing climate using Impatiens species growing on a long elevation gradient in Nepal.
