Our research division was founded in 1971 in a place ideal for the study of wetlands. Today, we pursue a research of various endangered ecosystems, study the impact of changing environmental factors on growth, body structure and the function of underground plant organs not only in our country, but all around the world. We are developing one of the oldest European collections of microorganisms and maintaining a unique collection of aquatic and wetland plants. The research division includes an analytical laboratory, an anatomical and a dendrochronological laboratory and a library.
